Meet Kyla Stewart

“What these adults have missed is support in the developmental phase of their lives, and we forget about them when they become adults—I say “them”, but I have been one of them. This is about serving the people who have been forgotten, who feel abandoned, and letting them know that there are people who care, and we’re going to help each other get well together.”
Goal: The goal of Dovecoat Dance Initiative is to make it possible for participants to experience wellness holistically through physical activity, creative expression, and community support. The project presents an alternative or supplement to traditional therapy.
The need: The Project supports adults impacted by family separation and child welfare systems.
